The building opened as the American Theatre on January 4, 1923 and was renamed the Hollywood Theater on December 9, 1922 after a renovation. The Hollywood Theater is one of a handful of surviving movie theaters from the silent and early sound eras in Hollywood. The Hollywood Red Theatre was built in 1926 and was located at 12300 Red River Road in Red River Valley, just west of Ontario.
