Huntington Library

The Huntington Library is located at 1151 Oxford Rd., San Marino, CA 91108, USA. The creation of Huntington Library is pretty interesting. It all started when Henry Edwards Huntington, a railroad magnate, visited San Marino Ranch in Pasadena. He instantly fell in love with Pasadena. When it was displayed for sale, he bought it right away. When he bought the place, the house was old and shabby. He built a mansion, which is now the building that holds the gallery. He started collecting books and paintings. He eventually constructed another house in 1920 and that is where the library is situated. The two buildings are surrounded by beautiful gardens with diverse collections of flowers from various parts of the world.
